Leeds Downtown Folk Festival and John Henry Celebration; Come to historic downtown Leeds and celebrate the roots, richness and variety of Alabama culture. You can bring the whole family to the fifth annual Leeds Downtown Folk Festival and John Henry Celebration, featuring a juried art show and sale, live music, kids’ activities, antique cars, food vendors and more. The centerpiece of the two-day festival is an outdoor play about the life of John Henry, the steel-drivin’ man, who is believed to have won a contest with a steam engine and died in a railroad tunnel south of Leeds.
