First Light "Journey of Hope" Gala

First Light "Journey of Hope" Gala; First Light Shelter, located in the heart of downtown Birmingham, will hold its 14th annual fundraising gala. The event, which includes a silent and live auction, seated dinner and an awards presentation, is responsible for over 10% of the non-profit’s proposed operating income. Themed "Journey of Hope", the popular event will offer over 100 silent auction items and approximately 25 live auction items, many from Birmingham’s elite artist community. Also typically included are fabulous trips and dinners at the city’s most popular restaurants. Items auctioned by this year’s auctioneer Christie King, from C. King Benefits, traditionally range from $25 to over $4000 providing opportunity for everyone to participate and support this worthy cause. Andrea Lindenberg will emcee the event. First Light is the only emergency shelter accepting homeless women, and homeless women with children, 24 hours a day in the area.
