Saint George MIddle Eastern Food Festival; Its that time of year again for college football, Nascar, and Saint George’s Annual Middle Eastern Food Festival ! Co-chairs Andrew Baroody and Eddie Thomas are confident that this year’s festival will be a memorable family event. The parish community combines its talents to prepare foods such as kibbee, filfel , meat and spinach pies, rolled grapeleaves and new to the menu, open face pies topped with spices, tomatoe and feta. A visit to the “almost a mile long” sweets table is a must. Homemade confections such as baklawa, and Zalabieh, a flavorful fried doughnut are a couple of many desserts offered. Visitors will have an opportunity to dress in colorful costume and have pictures made with Judy the Camel on Friday, October, 8.
