Baby Bird Season in Full Swing - Chirp in & Help Alabama's Native Baby Birds

Between April and September each year, AWC receives up to nine hundred injured and orphaned baby birds. The purpose of the event is to educate the community on the needs of native baby birds and encourage the public to do what they can to help.

Admission to AWC is free, but there is a small park entrance fee. All visitors are invited to bring a gift for the baby birds, and a Wish List can be downloaded from the homepage of the organization's website: www.awrc.org. A wide-range of activities will be offered, including wildlife presentations, observation of feedings and care in the Baby Bird Nursery, guided tours of Treetop Nature Trail (elevated boardwalk in the woods where non-releasable native raptors are housed), games for children, t-shirts and homemade goodies to purchase, charitable donation raffle, and more.
