Gone Fishin' UCP Style

Gone Fishin' UCP Style; Approximately 140 adults with disabilities will spend the day fishing at Oak Mountain State Park. There will be live bluegrass music, crafts, a picnic and of course, fishing in the lake area that has been stocked by Alabama Power Company, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Alagasco, and Consolidated Pipe. This event will follow the popular program "Gone Fishin', Not Just Wishin'" that began in 1995 for students from Jefferson County and Shelby County Schools for students with disabilities. Volunteers are needed to help the participants fish, serve lunch, make snow cones, serve soft drinks or help with crafts. May 13th 9:30 am - Noon Oak Mountain State Park
