Food Network Chef Aaron McCargo, Jr. Coming to Birmingham

Food Network Chef Aaron McCargo, Jr. Coming to Birmingham With Zesty New Recipes and Tips for No-Salt Cooking for National Kidney Month; Chef Aaron McCargo, Jr., sponsored by Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), is embarking on a tour of four U.S. cities during March in recognition of National Kidney Month. McCargo – host of the Food Network show “Big Daddy’s House” – will visit FMCNA clinics in each city to meet with dialysis patients and their families to share kidney-friendly cooking tips, food samples and recipes developed in collaboration with FMCNA dietitians. There are an estimated 26 million Americans with chronic kidney disease (CKD). CKD is a progressive, usually permanent loss of kidney function. Many people who have CKD are still in the early stages of the disease, but by the time CKD leads to kidney failure, or end-stage renal disease (ESRD), the only treatments are a kidney transplant or dialysis.
