3rd Annual Great Steps Walk for NF

3rd Annual Great Steps Walk for NF; The “Great Steps Walk for NF”, sponsored by The NF (Neurofibromatosis) Network, will benefit the disorder by raising awareness and funds for research. NF research is aimed at identifying a treatment and cure for this genetic, progressive nervous system disorder. Participants who register before August 24 are guaranteed an event t-shirt. Walkers can either walk as an individual or as a team and each individual raising $100 or more for the event will have their registration fee waived. Following the event, participants are invited to have fun, food and to meet/chat with others touched by NF, a representative from UAB (University of Alabama) Genetics Department, and our two co-chairs, Melanie Johnson and JamiLee Padgett. Melanie is our veteran third-time chair whose father, grandfather and herself all have NF. JamiLee is our rookie co-chair who is excited to be participating this year in the walk and is involving much of her extended family. JamiLee’s husband and 3 of her 4 children also have NF.
