On Saturday, May 15 participants will run 3.1 miles within the city of Hoover burning calories and showing support for The Janada L. Batchelor Foundation for Children (JFBC). The $30,000 goal will cover the cost of one new dormitory, which will provide for 16 young girls.
The 5K will begin at 8am at Veterans Park on Valleydale Road. Interested runners can print an entry form at www.trakshak.com. It is $35 to race if registered before April 23, $40 before May 8, and $45 before or on May 15. All proceeds will go directly toward the new dorm. There will also be a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk for those who want to participate but can't commit to a 5K. Runners will receive T-shirts for their participation and be entered to win several door prizes, including a one-year membership to Gold's Gym in Pelham.
